IDE reaches approximately 10,000 students indirectly, as IDE does not work directly with students. Instead, IDE works with teachers in over 200 schools to impact students.

Relationship to the public education system

IDE works closely with the Ministry of Education and specific colleges (e.g. Education Entrepreneurship Incubator with Kibbutz Seminary College, Shivlim with Kaye College) to deliver its programs. IDE works with teachers in over 200 schools.

Organization’s Vision and Mission

IDE strives to create a more equal society, in which there is cross-sectorial dialogue, there is room for diverse opinions and approaches, and where discrimination does not raise its head. IDE’s main objective is to implement the democratic culture within all of the communities that operate in the public sphere, and to bring quality and innovative education to the sectors that have not been able to enjoy the same until now.

Brief Description of Program Activities

Noah’s Ark Project encourages preschools to develop models of different types and on every topic, so long as they advance thinking, dialogue and coping, cooperation between people and interaction between the individual to the community and their surroundings.

This Kindergarten is Me enables preschoolers themselves to design their preschool surroundings. The program focuses on the development of the individual in four main principles of curiosity, initiation, self-realization, and sense of belonging.

Democratix is community of leaders of social change that provides innovative tools for organizations to manage projects. Education Pioneer Program trains teachers to be agents of change in schools in the social or geographic periphery of Israel.

Education Entrepreneurship Incubator (part of Bachelor’s), Shivlim, Jisr al-Zarqa Economical Model are incubators for young people around different initiatives through training of educators, bolstering network through forum for business owners, etc.

IDE encourages optimism, critical thinking, and activism on part of the individual and community and believes in cooperation, transparency, honesty, and study.

Program Content: Pedagogy/Active Engagement of Students

IDE does not work directly with students but rather works with teachers to be the designer of the learning process through teacher professional development.
